Girls' Getaway Guide | Gilbert, AZ

Gilbert is known as a family-friendly spot, but it’s also home to girl-powered and women-empowered spots. In partnership with Discover Gilbert, here’s five spots you can go to celebrate a girls’ getaway in Gilbert, AZ.

Girls’ Getaway Guide Gilbert: Thrive

With the advent of remote working taking a surge in 2020 and 2021, coworking spaces are thriving. But one that’s particularly successful is the women-owned and women-only coworking space, Thrive, in downtown Gilbert.

“Before we opened up, we had a long discussion as to whether our co-working space should be co-ed or women-only. I realized this is the way we should do it,” says the owner of Thrive, Braelyn J. Brown.

The space is beautiful, with natural lighting and inviting bohemian decor everywhere. It’s no wonder it serves as a hive and a backdrop for girl bosses and boss babes in the Phoenix valley.

As Brown says about the magic of women-only coworking, “We have a lot more community, and everyone is a lot more connected. There’s more natural networking, and people have life-long friends. It’s a sisterhood, everyone is non-judgemental and genuinely themselves, and it’s a really great group of people.”

If you’re looking for community, a sisterhood, and inspiration, Thrive is the place to go.

Girls’ Getaway Guide Gilbert: Garage-East

Every girls’ getaway needs a little wine! Tucked in Agritopia, Garage-East is the perfect spot to taste wine with your girlfriends. Offering daily wine tasting from 11am-4pm, (yes, you can drink as early as 11am!), it’s only $15 for six, 1 oz. pours. With nearly 20 wines to choose from, and many of them sourced locally, like the delicious wines from Willcox, AZ, you’ll definitely find your favorite wine here at Garage-East

We recommend trying the #BreakfastWine — White Wine Meets Citrus + Bubbles. As Garage-East describes it, “Don’t overthink it. Just like mimosas at your house on Sunday- but better.”

Girls’ Getaway Guide Gilbert: Arizona Goat Yoga

Looking for a fun, unique activity you can do with your girlfriends? Try Arizona Goat Yoga. Taking two completely different concepts, founders April Gould and Sarah Williams came up with the genius idea of goat yoga. “When people do our classes, it’s not intimidating at all,” Williams says. “They come to class, and everyone is playing with goats. Everyone likes goats, and we even put alpacas in the middle of class.”

The experience is definitely memorable, because after all, how often do you have goats climbing you while you’re holding the position for downward-facing dog? With themed classes like ‘80s Goat and Alpaca Yoga, and Ugly Sweater Goat and Alpaca Yoga, you’re encouraged to dress up and have even more fun with goats and alpacas alike.

Before you go to Arizona Goat Yoga, take note of the goats’ favorite yoga poses– cat-cow and downward-facing dog.

Girls’ Getaway Guide Gilbert: Energized Nutrition

When you and the girls are seeking a pick-me-up and Instagram-worthy content, look no further than Energized Nutrition. Founded by Adelene “Addie” Hidalgo, Addie opened the shop because she couldn’t find anything like it close to her, so why not create it on her own?

Though many beverages are sugary or tasteless, the beverages at Energized Nutrition are healthy, and many boost your energy levels. Offering teas and protein shakes, everyone that works at Energized Nutrition is a wellness coach and has special training on the products they offer. Try the Birthday Cake protein shake if you have a sweet tooth, and don’t forget to bring your iPhone to take lots of shots of the adorable wall art.

Girls’ Getaway Guide Gilbert: Matcha Grove

If you love pink and matcha, grab your girlfriends and head over to Matcha Grove. As the only matcha-cafe in the Phoenix valley, this pink cafe will capture the hearts of pink-lovers and matcha-lovers alike, plus, they carry gluten-free pastries as well.

“I wanted to offer another caffeinated drink that wasn't coffee, because for me and many others coffee doesn't sit well,” says the owner of Matcha Grove, Rocio Sheyko, “On the baked good side, I really wanted to serve the gluten-free/dairy-free community, as I know good gluten-free baked goods are hard to come by.”

Wear your pinkest outfit and take pictures by the pink “Matcha Gracias” neon sign. Order any one of their matcha-themed drinks, from the Blueberry Matcha to the Lavender Honey Matcha Latte – you won’t regret it.
