Event // T. Cook's Local Beer Tasting

On October 30th, I had the pleasure of attending T. Cook’s Local Beer Tasting. I love beer and supporting local breweries, and felt this event was right up my alley. When we first arrived we were greeted by the magnificent Mansion Courtyard at Royal Palms Resort and Spa. The decor was simply exquisite, and set against the backdrop of an Arizona sunset, made the evening even more lovely.

I made my rounds to each of the three breweries present: Huss Brewing, Barrio, and Four Peaks. From Huss, I drank one of my favorites, the Scottsdale Blonde, and from Four Peaks, I drank a Golden Lager. Both golden ales tasted crisp and delicious. And from Barrio, I drank the Rojo, a flavorful amber ale.

The beers paired well with the h’orderves. My favorites were the Honey Garlic Shrimp Skewers and Short Rib Beignets with Horseradish Crème. The shrimp were juicy and quite large; while the beignets burst with creamy goodness.

Overall, it was a wonderful night filled with wonderful flavors! I would visit the Royal Palms again for their romantic, exotic ambience and delightful dishes. And of course, support the local beer community!
